Quotes About Photography

Form 10
Comment on the quote you like most.

When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!

The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.

It is a cruel, ironical art, photography. The dragging of captured moments into the future; moments that should have been allowed to be evaporate into the past; should exist only in memories, glimpsed through the fog of events that came after. Photographs force us to see people before their future weighed them down....

The Earth is Art, The Photographer is only a Witness.

You can look at a picture for a week and never think of it again. You can also look at a picture for a second and think of it all your life.
Joan Miró

  1. I think that words of Ted Grant remind us of good quality photographs in black and white. However colour photography gained popularity with time, photographers are aware about the full potential of black and white pictures as well.

  2. I think all quotes worth our attention. I enjoy talking photographs and I believe that photography is a real art. A photographer makes decisions in creating a photograph, viewers make decisions about how to read it. In particular, viewers have to decide how to interpret a photograph. A photograph is not just a representation of what one sees in reality. It often represents something that is not seen by an ordinary viewer.

  3. I'm sure that Joan Miró is right because In my opinion, photography should be considered as art because art is anything you create. For example, a simple photograph of a person, or a place, or an object, may not mean anything to you, but for someone else it may have a very special, important meaning. Taking a beautiful photograph requires skill and time. We need to get the lighteng, angle, object. I think it's not easier than painting a picture or making a sculpture.

  4. Ithink the quote of Yann Arthus-Bertrand is about historical importance of some photos because we can learn lessons about some events and things without being in physical contact with them. Some photographs can be worth a thousand words. They have a tremendous power to communicate information.

  5. I like the words of Ted Grant, because I think they are true. Nowadays we photograph people in colour to pay attention to their clothes, appearence and colours of the photo. White and black photos are completely different, because the photographer should be a professional to make a photo which can impress the viewer. A good black and white photo is a masterpiece.
